My digital video signal is fine, but I lose audio...?

I have a Panasonic Plasma TV, but I still live in the stone age without cable. My UHF antenna receives video signals very well, but the audio periodically is lost. My analog channels and video inputs all have audio without fault.

Make sure you have a good signal for the channel or channels in question. Weak signals on analog often show up as a little or a lot of snow. Weak signals on digital show up as artifacts (pixels) on the screen or loss of audio on the channel. The TV should have some kind of signal strength meter built in to tell you how much signal you have. If your antenna is outside is it old (more than 10 years old) or missing elements? Replace it along with the cable that connects it to the TV and the lightning arrestor (to protect that new TV). The digital channels might be in a different direction (antenna needs to be rotated) than the analog channels. The link below will help you locate the stations based on your address so long as you live in the United States.
