What can be wrong with my powerbook G3 Lombard?

I recently got a powerbook G3 Lombard from a family friend. The thing doesnt power up, and A/C plug is not giving power to computer. With playing around with the power adaptor on the back, i can get it powered up, and the thing runs great. It has OSX installed. Going into About this mac, it says Power plug isnt plugged in, and that its not charging. Mac then dies after about 15min of running, either due to battery dead, or because of its problem. So my question is, what can be wrong with it? i can only assume its either the sound board, or the other board that the battery connects to, i cant imagine that it can be both, but with these symptoms(not recognizing a/c power, no battery power), it looks like it may be both. Please help me

the sound card wouldn't have anything to do with the problem... perhaps you mean the motherboard. More than likely it is the power cable that is the problem or the port that the power cable plugs into. If its the latter then it's definitely the motherboard. Eitherway you will have to order replacements/get it fixed through the computer manufacturer.
