Can I connect my Sony (HX80) Bluetooth Hifi System to my PS3?

I have tried to pair my PS3 with my sony bluetooth Hifi and its connected but with no sound.. The Hifi system seems to just have a regular audio input connector but also has a USB input. So im not sure if it is even possible to connect by these?

The HX80 manual does not mention any Bluetooth capabilities. And while Bluetooth is used for connecting mobile devices for communication, a receiver would not be designed to use it for receiving audio because of the low bandwidth and below average audio quality.

Also, the PS3 does not have a Bluetooth audio output option, it only outputs game and disc audio through wired connections. It can use Bluetooth to connect to a wireless headset, but that is for multi-player communication audio only.

The HX80 has a 3.5mm stereo audio input. If you bought a 3.5mm to dual female RCA adapter cable, you could connect the RCA ends to a Playstation 2 or 3 AV cable. You may need to set the audio output on the PS3 to use the RCA AV cable. The PS3's video can still go out through an HDMI connected cable to the TV if you have that option, because both types of cables can be connected to the PS3 at the same time.
