CDR Media Storage Device Created Long Lasting Impression

Media storage devices are capable of preserving data, images, audio and video files of large sizes in a comparatively small area. The evolution of the media storage devices right from the 64 KB floppy disk with its huge size (5 ¾ inches) to the present day CD-R drives having a capacity to keep data of different sizes in small space that no one can believe if we are living in twentieth century.

Since many of the media storage devices which were very popular a few years ago have now become totally obsolete, we will start from the hard disk and zip drive which set a trend in removable media storage device. Hard disk is a fixed media storage devices lacking portability. When you buy a personal computer you decide what should be the capacity of the hard disk which is fixed inside the personal computer. The storage capacity of the hard disk is gradually increasing as the days goes by - earlier, a decade ago, 2 GB hard disk was the largest storage capacity possible. Now there are hard disks available with a capacity to store 1 TB (Tetra Byte - equivalent to 1024 GB).

Writeable and rewriteable compact disks really changed the world for all who love to store their precious data at safe and secure place; even data management is quite easy when CD-R is used. Popularly known across the globe storage medium is known as CDR, and CDRW media storage devices have a capacity to store around 800 MB of data, audio, or video files. Since most of the personal computers are configured to have a CD ROM Drive, it is very easy to transfer or read the files from any personal computer. The CDRW media can be reused again and again after deleting the files written earlier.

Files can be written, deleted, transferred and rewritten in CD-R Drives very easily. Among all the media storage devices, a CD-R is the most preferred, easy to use and functionally versatile device. This article definitely going to enhance knowledge base for all, who believe in technology innovation with the change of time. Guys & Gals if you have interest in the concept of CDR media storage device, then above information definitely going to update you with the latest information in this regard.

Why won't my cdrw be recognized?

Older computer, but still usable--I'm using a cloned hard drive. The original config was with a cdrom and zip drive. Switched to cdrom and cdrw. When I first turned it on, it loaded and configured all hardware devices, including the cdrw. Then it said that the cdrw had been disconnected improperly (which it had not by me). I shut it down, opened it up, reseated all connections, started it up and it did not recognize the cdrw after this. I even repeated the process, even switched out some cables thinking they were bad. It's not the motherboard because I tested that by connecting other devices to be sure it was supplying power to the cable and it was. Also, the cdrom is recognized as a Zip drive, but it still works correctly. I just can't get the cdrw to work at all. It won't even open. No response at all. It's an e-machine with Win2k Pro.

if the CD ROM is recognized as a zip drive then the driver for the CD ROM is wrong.
UN-install the driver in device manager and install the correct driver..

that aughta do it
