Phuket Fantasea Theme Park

The Phuket Fantasea Theme Park calls itself the Ultimate Cultural Theme Park and it is all of this and more. Phuket FantaSea offers the opportunity to explore the various regions of Thailand through a show of light and sound, architecture, food and entertainment using cutting edge technology and special effects.

The venue is set on a 140-acre theme complex next to Kamala Beach. It is packed with a multitude of activities and entertainment. A Carnival village with games, handicrafts and shopping. A 4,000 seat theme restaurant offering a grand buffet of Thai and international cuisines is a hit with food lovers. The main event is of course the Fantasea show. This breath-taking Las Vegas-style theatrical show uses state-of-the-art technology and special effects to enhance the grace and beauty of Thailand's Myths, Mysteries and Magic in a wondrous extravaganza.

The show kicks off in grand style at 21:00. The stage is huge, but the performance space is even bigger. Spectators are given insights into Thai culture in the form of traditional dances from different regions of the country, shadow puppets, and a fascinating wardrobe. A large number of elephants are incorporated in to the show as actors. The show also employs goats, roosters, water buffalo, and doves in supporting roles.

The story is a bit difficult to follow but that will be compensated by the glitz and glamour of the actors and their costumes, lighting and special effects.
Tickets can be bought at the front gate. Banquet/ show combo tickets are also available. The banquet is set out in a huge palace that seats 5000. If you don't go for this option, there are plenty of other types of eateries inside from restaurants to junk food stalls.

Apart from the show you can also occupy yourself with cultural dance performances, Thai traditional music displays, side show alleys, elephant rides, photos with tigers. Head to Similan Adventure Center, a sea-themed arcade full of games. Watch the bartender spin, flip, and toss bottles while dancing a techno-jig at the open-air bar. Indulge in some shopping from the numerous stalls designed to suit every taste and budget. Or visit the photo studio and dress the family in traditional Thai costumes for a unique keepsake.

The operations at Phuket FantaSea are slick. The various activities within the park are orchestrated with such precision that your experience is truly a memorable and enjoyable one. The huge and hospitable staff will make sure that you’re picked up, fed, entertained, and returned safely to your hotel.
The 4,000 seater Golden Kinnaree Buffet Restaurant is a perfect example of the park’s grand scale. It has two long buffet counters that serve a mix of Thai and international food; while a changing selection of special dishes get their own kiosks at the front of the room.

You can keep a few pointers in mind just so that you can squeeze the best out of this trip to the Fantasea Theme Park.  Don't pay for a ride on the elephant before the show. If you want a photo sitting on one, wait till after the show when they bring out the younger ones and you can sit on them for a photo for free. Be sure to leave your cameras, camcorders, video cell phones etc. or any kind of devices capable of taking pictures, in your hotel. They strictly do not allow these devices inside the premises.

Would this combo of fish work?

I have 2 tiger barbs and im thinking about getting 2 mollies, 2 black tetras, 2 gouramis and 1 algae eater. It is a Ten Gallon tank.

nope. none of those should be in a 10 gallon.

tiger barbs - need to be in a shoal of 6-7 or more, in a 25 gallon tank or large
black tetras - need to be in a shoal of 6-7 or more, in a 15 gallon tank or larger
mollies - need to be in 15 gallons or larger, get surprisingly large
gouramis - depends on species, only honey and sparkling gouramis can live in a 10 gallon, all others need a larger tank, dwarf gouramis need 15 gallons
algae eater - depends on species, only an otocinclus would fit, they need to be kept in a trio and only work in mature tanks (over 6 months old) full of algae. they can be very sensitive.
