Here are some more information for Compact Case: Since you're reading this article, you're probably wondering what the phrase, "compact Outlook data files" means, or you know what it means and are looking for instructions on how to do it. You're in luck in either case. But just to be safe, let's start at the beginning. Every bit of information you see in Outlook is either stored on a Microsoft Exchange server someplace (like your corporate data center) or on your computer hard drive. If your Outlook data is on your hard drive, it is stored in personal folder files. These files are usually called .pst files, because .pst is the file extension for these kinds of files on your system. Not surprisingly, every item stored in a .pst file takes up a bit of space on your hard drive. So what happens to the .pst file when you delete an Outlook item? The deleted item goes to Outlook's Deleted Items folder. The item is still occupying space in the .pst file since the item is still available when it is in the Deleted Items folder. Now what happens when you empty the Deleted Items folder? From our point of view, anything in this folder when it is emptied is gone forever. The item or items are also removed from the .pst file. But the amount of space occupied by the .pst file doesn't decrease. This means that, unless something happens, your .pst files will get bigger and bigger over time, even if you keep the same number of items in Outlook. As .pst files get larger, they cause two problems. First, they occupy more and more of your hard disk space. If you have lots of disk space available, that may not seem like an issue, but it will eventually become one, if for no other reason than that Outlook has limits on the size of .pst files it will work with. The second reason this is a problem is that the bigger your .pst files grow, the slower Outlook works. And that only makes sense. As Outlook has to sift through an ever-larger file to find the items it needs, it takes longer to get things done. That's why it is important to compact Outlook data files every so often. How often you should compact files is an inexact science. If you have a lot of stuff in Outlook, and the program seems to be running slowly, you should compact the .pst files before taking more extreme measures. But if you're not having problems, you should try to compact Outlook .pst files once or twice a year. It's not hard to do. It's a simple 4 step (for Outlook 2003) or 5 step (for Outlook 2007) process that anyone can do. About the Author Are you ready to compact your data files now? Do you have to buy the compact / case to go along with powder foundation? Is it fine just to buy the refill without the case? I have some good sponges already. I'm looking at Stila's and Shiseido's powder foundations, I just would rather buy the refill without the compact. Would I be able to store it in the plastic container I assume they are shipped in?
Stila and Shiseido have lovely powder foundations. I think it's okay to buy refills as long as you can store them with convenience. Case Wins Multiple Industry Awards for Product Introductions Thanks for visiting!
