I just purchased Wii DDR Hottest Party 3. Can that be played on dvd player?

I don't have the original Wii game. Do I need that to be able to play the Wii DDR or can it be played on Nintendo or DVD player?

If you buy a wii game, no it can't be played on the dvd player. it won't be able to read the disc and you can' t plug in the ddr mat and how would you get to the game? you couldn't. you would have to play it on the wii for you to be able to get to the game.
