What is the best VHS/DVD combo to convert videos to DVDs?

I have lots of video tapes, and I want a machine that will play them while burning them onto DVDs. What is a good durable machine I can buy, and where can I get it? Also, how much should I expect to pay?
I have some old movies, too, and I'd like a self contained machine that plays and records VHS and DVDs.
