Can I zip and remove folders from my email?

Over time , I have accumulated several folders of topics that I would like to remove, but store on DVD.

The only thing I can think of is paying for POP Yahoo! Mail Plus. Then the e-mails will save directly to your computers hard-drive through Microsoft Outlook. It would be a handy feature to have on the free e-mail tho.
