I already have a pretty good credit score, and have some good unsecured cards. Whenever I try to apply for an AMEX card, it just comes back declined, and says American Express Cancelled your previous account(s). They do not even pull an inquiry.

It's my understanding that once you default on or discharge an AMEX card in a BK filing...they will never let you have another AMEX card again....even if your credit improves several years later.

Be careful...if you're just out of a Chapter 7 filing, the last thing you need is unsecured credit card debt that cannot be discharged again for 8 years.
