I'm a DJ, with a slow and old computer!
I am looking for an external hard-drive, either 500G, or 1TB, which one is the highest quality, and performance.. I read a lot of reviews and saw a lot of Ext. Hard drive's crash, and you lose data, etc.
I want the lowest possible chance of this happening to all my data.
Which one do you prefer or find the best quality, and performance wise.

Honestly, the best one is one that you 'build' yourself.

You can pick the HDD of your choice and the enclosure of your choice.

The most common problem with an external enclosure is that the enclosure fails and you can't access the HDD. With one you build yourself you can just get a new enclosure (or send in the enclosure only if one fails under warranty and have no risk of losing your data).

Here is a kick-arse enclosure that will give you maximum HDD life. I have 6 of their previous model.
