Does the Dell inspiron mini 9 have a firewire port? And are the firewire port and the Usb port the same?

I am trying to buy an external dvd drive and i found one made buy dell that is brand new but the company that is selling it says it will work with all computers with a firewire port. I have a mini 9 but i don't know if it has a firewire port and i do not have it with me to look and see.

I'm not sure, but I believe there is no firewire port on the mini 9. To answer your other question firewire and USb are basically the same except there connections are different and there data speeds are different. There basically two competing companies fighting for market share, USB won that war.
