Are all 802.11N wifi cards able to operate in the 5-Ghz range?
I picked up a Belkin wifi card and I cannot seem to get it to connect to my Apple Extreme router set in 5Ghz / N mode. It connects fine in 2.4Ghz mode / N.
What gives? I thought all 802.11N products could operate in this range. Thanks.
has nothing to do with interference. i'm on a macbook right now and it works fine in any range.
the sole reason i bought this was to move to the 5ghz range...grr...
WEP is NOT enabled. I downloaded the latest drivers from their site; no difference.
Sounds like you are connected at a pre draft N rate(B/G). If I can recall correctly, you most likely have WEP security set up. WEP, I dont think, is supported by the N or N2.0 draft. Try dropping WEP just to see if that increases your connection rate.
You also might want to check your drivers from Belkin's website, if you have the newest try one backwards.
