Will 2.4 ghz (Intel core 2 duo) work well with Photoshop? What about battery?

I am getting a computer with 2.4 ghz (3mb cache). What kind of difference would I see in battery life and performance if I had gotten 2.5 ghz (6mb cache)?

The 2.4GHz cpu will be fine. It is what is currently inside the 15" MacBook Pro.

What difference would you see if you got the 2.5Ghz CPU? Not much where Photoshop is concerned.

CPU and RAM are the most important aspects when using Photoshop as it is VERY RAM instensive. Photoshop itself needs around 1GB of RAM to be usefull and 2GB of RAM to be effective since most of the time when you are dealing with images they are utilising the available RAM until you save them to the hard drive.

If you plan on having Photoshop and InDesign or Dreamweaver open together you will need at least 3-4 GB of RAM.
The other factor when considering the speed of Photoshop is your own knowledge of how to use it.
