Brother Mfc-845Cw – The Printer That Can Literally Do Anything
The term, “All in one,” gets thrown around a lot when dealing with multifunctional centers, but theBrother MFC-845CW is one of the select few that actually lives up to the name. This piece of hardware can print, fax, copy, scan, PC Fax, make a phone call, answer your phone calls, display a color image, print a color image, and take a media card, and not only does it come with a built in wireless modem, it comes with a wireless telephone! The Brother MFC-845CW can literally do anything.
Laser printers are built for durability and massive monochrome outputs and, while the MFC-845CW can’t compete, with its limited 2,500 maximum monthly duty cycle and relatively tiny 100 sheet paper tray, these small limitations are its only drawbacks. It keeps up with and exceedsmany industrial grade laser printers for speed with 27 pages per minute in black and white, and can even match pace incolor at 22 pages per minute.
One of the first things you notice about this unit is the flip up 2.5 inch color LCD display that lets you know: this printer was born for color. Using the screen allows you to preview and print your photos without ever integrating with a PC if you choose, at true photographic quality 6000 X 1200 dots per inch, and you won’t have to settle for soggy pictures printed on thin, standard paper. The 4 X 6 photo tray allows you to use glossy photo paper to make your pictures crisp enough for a picture frame, and it operates separately from the standard paper tray, holding up to 20 sheets of glossy, so you never have to fumble back and forth, swapping paper types. The hardware is also capable of printing borderlessly with a minimum droplet size of 1.5 picoliters, which saves you the trouble of trying to cut out your own pictures.
A feature that often gets ignored on all in one machines is the, often included, corded, clumsy handset telephone that crams the top of many printers. The MFC-845CW, however, has solved this problem by including a phone that’s wireless. The phone itself comes equipped with its own keypad, LCD screen, and built in digital answering machine. It also gives you the option of expanding to up to four more 5.8 GHz phones making it more than suitable to use as your primary house phone, instead of just a rarely used novelty lurking in the home office, scaring the kids.
The 802.11b/g built in wireless modem makes setup to a network a breeze, classifying this unit as suitable for both home business use or a small office. If you prefer cords, also included is Ethernet capability for wired networking and a USB port for single PC or Mac use. Interestingly enough, this highly versatile unit was discontinued shortly ago, but is still available new and used on sites like Amazon, at prices that are more than reasonable. This, along with the highly affordable color ink packages available, make the Brother MFC-845CW priced to own for the individual user who wants it all.

What should I do for my next upgrade?
I'm planning on upgrading my computer in time for vista.
Current Specs:
AMD Semperon 2800+ Socket A
PC Chips Motherboard
1.5 Gbs Of Ultra DDR Ram
120 GB Hard drive
ATI Radeon 9250
Sound Card
A dvd burner
a cd burner
I want to upgrade my processor and video card but that means also upgrading my motherboard and probally ram.
Here's some parts i found
BFG Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS on Newegg for 144$
AMD Windsor 2.2 Ghz Dual Core on Newegg for 180$
Questions:
1. Is it Worth upgrading to DDR2?
2. Are these good parts?
3. Is the price good?
4. Which motherboard should I get?
5. Any part recommendations?
6. Should I spend a few hundred dollars more and make it a second computer?
1. Yes it is worth upgrading to DDR2, that means you will need to get a socket AM2 motherboard and cpu if you go with AMD. It is worth it because DDR2 is faster and offers a high performance gain over DDR.
2. The video card is good and the processor is ok for AMD. (read below for cpu recommendation).
3. Yes the prices are good, newegg has some of the best deals.
4. It depends if you want SLI or not (two graphics cards in one machine. ASUS makes some of the highest quality motherboards. Gigabyte and MSI are also good.
5. Instead of the AMD chip i would get the intel Core 2 Duo E6300 cpu. It is the same price but is much more powerful. Corsair XMS memory and OCZ are the two quality memory manufacturers. If you get DDR make sure that the first # in the latency isn't greater than 2. If you get DDR2 make sure that it isn't greater than 4. Read the reviews on newegg before you buy, they are very helpful in determining which products are likely to fail or be DOA and which ones will work great.
6. As long as you are upgrading the video card, cpu, and motherboard i would make it a second computer, as long as you have the money, time, and energy to put it together.
Fiber-wireless (Fi-Wi) to provide ultra-high-speed, short-range communication
(PhysOrg.com) -- By looking at the latest electronic communication devices that have emerged over the past few years, it's clear that the trend of smaller, portable devices is strong and expected to continue. Yet while all these notebooks, netbooks, and tablet PCs are becoming more and more popular, their explosive growth also poses a problem: these wireless devices are hogging the already ...
