Can I import video from my Sony DCR-DVD301to a Mac?

I connected the camera to my mac and the computer couldn't read the file. I'm sure there's a way to do this but I can't find much information on Sony's site.

You should get a mini dv or digital Hi8/8mm camcorder. They are easier to import to iMovie.
