Agreed.. windows has alot more software developed for HW and gaming, its also ahelluva lot more user friendly, and since home edition is only going for 99 right now its a good deal. Just be sure to get some security software if your planning on internet use.

BUT! if you must have a linux machine one of the best linux packs made right now is Ubuntu, but seriously man linux is more of a computer nerd thing, if your going to have a linux machine your going to have to know alittle bit about command-codes.

I've heard some really good things about Mac, but macs are expensive and kinda slow, Macs are still technically unix machines(the Mac OS is built on a linux pack called OpenBSD) so you still need alittle more knowledge.

If you do decide to take the path of windows and don't have the money for MS office you can try a really good alternative called openoffice.org
