The more time you spend selecting the tracks to put on your player instead of ripping the whole thing, could save you a lot of space for just the songs that you like or will listen to.

Software for recovering music from MP3 player to computer?

I had downloaded songs and put them on my MP3 player. Then the computer crashed, and I lost the songs. I thought I wouldn't be able to get them back without buying them again, but now I'm wondering if there's a software that can take them from my mp3 player onto the computer.

you can do it for free.
just go to My computer>(your Ipod's name)>and the turn on hidden files.
To turn on hidden files:
go to :Tools>Folder options, then the "view tab, then "show hidden files and folders".
once you have your hidden viles, visible, just go to iPod_Control>Music, then go thruogh your folders. in each folder is some of your music. just copy and paste all the songs to your Itunes folder in your "My Music" folder. then, just click each song.

As far as I know it legal, provide you don't steal music with it, just use it as a back up.
