Is there an Easy way to run two IPods off of one Mac book Pro?

Can you run two Ipod's off of one Macbook pro without having to create another user account. Im looking for one easy way to do it while keeping two playlists completely seperate as I have slightly different musical tastes than my son. Thanks very much.

having seperate user accounts with seperate music library files BUT with the music stored in the /Users/Shared/Shared itunes music directory will work best as you then only need ! copy of each song you like and you can independantly manage your own music files.

otherwise you need to set both iopd to manually manage music and select tunes individually each time you load the ipod otherwsie you'll end up with 2 ipods with same music. if you forget.

remember the FIRST ipod you sunced it with automatically will be the MASTER.

then start itunes on the next computer and connect the next ipod to the USB when it says not linked to this computer ... Link and erase Yes/No say NO!

you Can then manually manage the music as the ipod recognise which machine is its master.

if you want to copy songs from the ipod to the library just click on the pip next to the ipod and the entire list of its songs are given simply drag and drop these onto your laptops itunes library

to select whihc tunes to load on each ipod when its connected you have to select the ipod tab then the music tab then check the box against each song you want to load on that ipod!

its time consuming and often leads to mistakes if you forget which ipod is which. use 2 user accounts but change the default itunes music location to the shared drive/folder for both accounts and that will work
