How does merge sort work?
In my data structures course we just finished a section about data searches and sorts. I am still a little shaky on how exactly merge sort works though. Could some one please explain the algorithm of the sort? I am currently working on a project to code a program that merge sorts a file, but I don't even know how the sort works.
