Introducing Intimus Multimedia Shredders and Martin Yale Pharmacy Shredders

Having the right shredder is important for every business these days, thanks to the rise of identity theft, as well as federal privacy laws such at the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA). But not only is it important to have the right paper shredder, it's vital to have a way of destroying other types of media including CD's, diskettes, pill bottles, and so on. That's where multimedia and pharmacy shredders come in. These shredders offer a way of disposing of different types of media quickly and easily, and Intimus, a leading maker of shredders, has three models for your consideration: the 502CD Multimedia Shredder, the Multimedia Particle-Cut Shredder, and the Martin Yale ScriptStroyer pharmacy shredder. (Martin Yale is the parent company of Intimus.) Please continue reading to learn about these impressive machines and find out how they can assist you with your shredding needs.

The Intimus 502CD Multimedia Shredder is perfect for destroying credit cards, CD's, DVD's, and 3.5" floppy disks. (Please note that it cannot shred paper. You will need a different machine for that.) The 502CD has two chambers: one to hold the CD and DVD waste, and another to hold everything else. This makes it easy to recycle your waste because you won't have to separate one type of waste from another. This is a very fast machine that's capable of destroying 800-1200 items per hour and the continuous-duty motor ensures that you'll be able to keep right on shredding and won't have to wait for the machine to cool down and start up again. And you can be confident that your data will be gone forever because the 502CD reduces your media into countless 5/16" x 13/16" shreds.

Intimus' Multimedia Particle-Cut shredder is even more powerful than the 502 CD. Not only can this machine destroy CD's and floppy disks, it pulverizes Zip disks, DAT tapes, and Superdisks, so if you need a machine that can handle just about every time of electronic media under the sun, the Multimedia Particle-Cut Shredder is the one to get. Like the 502CD, this shredder has two compartments to keep your different types of waste separate, and there are three entry slots for various types of media. The size of your shreds will vary depending on what type of material you're shredding, but you can be sure that this shredder will completely destroy all of your private data and shield you from identity theft.

Martin Yale offers an innovative way for health professionals to shred their stuff and comply with the HIPPA laws: the new ScriptStroyer pharmacy shredder. This machine can shred paper (10 sheets in one pass), as well as medication bottles, so it's perfect for drugstores and other businesses that handle sensitive patient information. Two other features that make this machine stand out are the shredder's automatic oiler, which makes the machine easy to maintain, and the fact that this unit is super quiet, so it won't disturb your customers or patients. This is the machine to get in order to preserve your clients' privacy, as well as prevent any legal troubles from occurring.

It's vital to have a shredder to compete in today's business world and protect people's privacy. Luckily, the folks at Intimus/Martin Yale make it easy to do just that, thanks to their great selection of shredders. If you need to destroy old CD-ROM's, a Zip disk, or confidential patient information, one of these shredders can help you out.

Ls-120/240 and caleb it superdrives. With Windows recognize them?

Ok here's the deal. My I'm building my new computer with a full tower server case. It has 7 front drive bays. I've so far used 6 of them, that means that i have another slot to put crap in. I'm already setting it up with 2 sata dvd drives, a 3.5' floppy, a 5.25" floppy, a zip drive, and an awesome card reader. Just for my amusement since I like playing with legacy hardware, and i have another slot to play with I was thinking of installing another "superdisk" drive.

If it will work it will either be a caleb IT 144mb drive, or a ls-240 superdisk drive.

For anyone who has ever used these, do these things require special drivers? The ls-240 was discontinued in 03 so I'm assuming it will work with xp. Will either of these drives work with seven and if so what do I have to do, or what should I look out for? Do they work just like zip? Plug n play?

Should work...I just picked up an Imation external USB Superdisk (LS-120) drive for $2.50 at a 2nd hand store. Plugged it into a Windows 7 machine, and it was immediately recognized. Internally, it's just a standard IDE drive with an add-on USB adapter. Windows sees it as an IDE controller and connected drive. In your case, IDE direct to it without the USB in the middle.

I too was wondering if it would work...and was pleasantly surprised to find that it would.

Stick a fork in floppies - they're done
Sony brings a long history to quiet end Stop us if you've heard this before: the floppy drive is dead. Sony has announced that it will stop selling the long-running storage medium next year.…
