When you do get FSX, make sure you download and install the FSX Service Pack 1 (SP1) because it greatly improves framerates.

FS2004 (FS9) would run very well on your computer. It is a very good flight sim, maybe the best, and it is available at a discount now since it is already 5 yrs old but it is still very, very popular among flight simmers.
