Can I dual boot Vista SP1 and Ubuntu with modifying the Windows MBR?

I want to know if it's possible to dual boot Vista Ultimate SP1 from my first hard drive (already going), and put in a second hard drive to boot Ubuntu from. Can I set this up with modifying the Vista MBR at all? I have a Dell Inspiron 530, and have read that Vista SP1 didn't like modifying MBR's because of BitLocker. So is this possible at all?

Ubuntu will live comfortably on 10 GB.......of course, the more the merrier.....figure out how much space you want to remove from windows....

Run the liveCD....once the User Interface is up, you should see an install icon....

CAREFULLY run through your installer and you will find you will have the opportunity to resize your current partition. Then select the newly unused space for Ubuntu.....DO NOT CHOOSE USE ENTIRE DISK....that is the default and will wipe Windows partition

I can not stress enough, CAREFULLY READ YOUR DIALOGS. Failure to do so will wipe your current installed OS...

once you are done with the install, you will see a boot menu.. There is a way of selecting the default OS by default...you can find this and other information in the Ubuntu forums
