Is this a good security combo for a laptop(not behind a router)?

This PC could be on open networks like free wifi areas ect..
Antivirus....Nod32
Firewall...vista configured for inbound and outbound blocking

Pretty much ok, though I would skip Spybot, as there are more often updated tools. Personally have bad experience with it, although it is highly recomended.
You might want to check SpywareBlaster to run together with either Ad-aware or Windows Defender. It works a bit differently and would increase security.
