What is the difference between a wireless notebook mouse, and a pc wireless mouse?

We purchased a (Newmen) optical wireless mouse for a pc, but are trying to use it for a laptop. I know they sell wireless notebook mouses, but is there really a difference because we can't seam to get it to work. I hav searched on the web with little success, and someone else I know uses a PC wireless mouse for their notebook...

There is no difference what so ever. The communication protocols in use are identical to each other. The drivers should be supplied with the hardware if it needs it. Install them before inserting the hardware and that will make sure windows allocates the correct driver for it. If its still not working download and install windows service pack 3 from

detach you wireless mouse and reboot the machine, then re-atttach after your desktop is in view. then open windows internet explorer.exe click tools then windows update, it will show you express update and custom update,

you MUST SELECT CUSTOM UPDATE. If your mouse/wireless transmitter still needs a driver, It will be in there, check the boxes relate to hardware and install, that should sort your problem out a reboot, please let me know how you get on,
